Artist Statement

The natural world and the inner world are my inspirations. I aim to rein in a free painterly intuition with the logic of a grid and gentle geometry to covey feeling- with abandon and control. My journey is the risk of the search for truth. It is always on my mind to discover something I don’t know, to go somewhere I have not been.  My tools range from collected accumulations of inspiration , to experimental materials, and  the traditional. As the work progresses it tells me where it wants to go and if I am a good listener I succeed. Titles come unconsciously and are inspired by poetry which I feel free to distort  or enhance to convey what’s on my conscious mind.
